On Dec. 11, 2018, the City of San José voted to adopt the Energy and Water Building Performance Ordinance (BPO). This requires all commercial & multi-family buildings to submit an Energy Benchmark annually, on May 1st. Buildings over 50,000 sq.ft. have an initial deadline in 2019. Starting in 2020, buildings 20,000 sq.ft. and over must comply as well.
